5 ways to make your senior portraits stand out

Senior Portraits | Charlestown, RI | Class of 2023

Senior portraits are a great way to celebrate your senior year. But how do you choose which photos to take? And how do you make sure that your senior portrait stands out?

Here's how:

There are five ways to make your senior portraits stand out.

First, consider what kind of photo shoot you'd like to have. If you want something more formal, you'll need to plan ahead. Make an appointment to have your hair freshly cut and styled. If make-up is your thing, then make an appointment to have your makeup professionally done as well.

Second, think about who will be in the pictures. Will there be family members? Friends? Classmates? Do you want to include yourself? What about your friends' parents?

Third, think about the location. Where should the photos be taken? Is there a particular spot you'd like to use at your school or church? Or maybe you'd like to go somewhere outside of your community. You might want to send your photographer some pictures of the location so that he or she has a better idea of where you would like to be photographed.

Fourth, think about props. Are there any props that you'd like to incorporate into the photos? For example, maybe you'd like to wear a certain outfit or hold a particular object.

Have Fun! You should enjoy taking senior pictures because they will last forever. If you feel uncomfortable with the process, you won't enjoy yourself as much. So consider what kind of photos you'd like to see.
